Um, I think I should start by saying that I'm not from Earth but from a planet called Rady. [does the name sound familiar to you, dear sir] It's really, really far away.

Oh, no, don't worry about it. Ask all you want. I just sort of felt like I was doing all the talking and not letting you get a word in.

I guess if camp can pull people from different times, universes, and dimensions, it can pull people from different planets, too. [ but hey wait a sec ] Rady? Wasn't there another one from there? Little guy, about yay tall? [ general size gesture with the hand ]

I am from a different time though. Originally I was from the year 2500, used a wormhole to travel to the year 2005, and now I'm in the year 2012 somehow. [smiling] There isn't another person from my planet. That child you met was me.

Ah, okay. I don't really know how to shut up, sometimes. Side effect of spending so much time alone.

Whoa, that's pretty far ahead. Why come bac--- [ wait what ] That was you? Was that camp being . . . well, camp, or did you go home and come back, or what?

[chuckles] It's one of camp's effects. Probably depends on the person, you can either be the older or or younger version of yourself. For me, as you saw, I became my 10 year old self. Like the other effects, it only lasts a week.

Only if giving you a spell and telling you to concentrate really hard constitutes teaching you magic.

You don't remember any of it?

I guess that's the sort of thing that allows people to recognize people they haven't seen in years. How old are you, anyway? Aside from "not ten". . . . Sorry for asking, but where I'm from the assumed physical age can be way off the actual age. By decades.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I'm the 17-year-old that is generally assumed to be an old man in my world.

You don't look like an old man.

The assumption isn't without cause, I guess. I'm rarely out in public, but my younger brother is. He looks about 80 because of an accident involving misused magic. In reality, he's 13.

Ah. It must be difficult for him. To look a certain age but are actually younger.

He makes it work to his benefit, I suppose. You probably wouldn't suspect him if it weren't for the obviously childish things he says.
